Lung Cancer
Cancer that begins in the lungs. It is the leading cause of cancer death worldwide.
What is Lung Cancer?
It forms in the tissues of the lungs, usually in the cells lining the air passages. The two main types are small cell lung cancer and non-small cell lung cancer. Smoking is the main risk factor.
Common Symptoms
- A persistent cough that doesn't go away or gets worse.
- Coughing up blood or rust-colored sputum.
- Chest pain that worsens with deep breathing or coughing.
- Persistent hoarseness.
- Unexplained weight loss and loss of appetite.
- Shortness of breath or wheezing.
